Episode 30 - 1924
Monday Mar 04, 2019
Monday Mar 04, 2019
If any season we have covered so far deserved a dedicated podcast (Ala 93 the greatest season that was) I believe the 1924 season would be it.
SO MUCH HAPPENED
to begin with we have a new finals system, we have the death of two important VFL people, There are coaches switching clubs (of have they???). The Collingwood board, not used to the lack of success, make some changes at the top. Fitzroy begin life without Freake and Parratt, but recruit a suitable replacement. There are goal post shaking scandals and debate about how many men can stand on the mark. And finally the season ends with an interesting phone call to Syd Barker and then the first Championship of Victoria Match.
So much to listen too....

Episode 29 - 1923
Monday Feb 18, 2019
Monday Feb 18, 2019
1923 was a year that saw the Ladder change and league powerhouses fall. Reigning premiers, Fitzroy (AKA The Man's Team) continued to dominate, their bruising style of play seeing them comfortably take their place in the 4. Essendon continued to thrive in their new home of Windy Hill, and South Melbourne’s fortunes return. Some Carlton players cause a bit of a stir and down in sleepy Hollow, the pivots stumble upon a new nickname. Plus we check in with Big Red to see whats happening around the grounds, we have Crapp Watch and Dick Watch and we say goodbye to the Champion of the Colony award.

Thursday Feb 07, 2019
In our 1922 episode, we included an interview with author Robert Allen, in which he discussed his book Cazaly, The Legend. In this discussion we chatted about Cazaly, football, life in the 1920's, footy in Tassie, and many more topics. For the episode we had to cut the interview down to fit it in, however we thought the discussion was too good to not put out there, so here it is, our interview with Robert Allen in full. Enjoy.
