One of our favorites is back at South Melbourne. Footscray, in their up year, gets the win they have been craving for soooooo long. Fitzroy managed to just avoid an embarrassing scoreline and there is an unfortunate number of off-field incidents that affected different teams. All this and more....

John Coleman is back and firing for the Bombers, Geelong continue to dominate with the form that saw them win it in 51! Collingwood seems to be channeling the Machine team and is back in a big way. Mopsy Fraser takes on the Twomey Clan when Richmond play the Pies and South Melbourne and Carlton race for the last finals spot, it all coming down to the very last day of the home and away season

After 38 years a Collingwood coach and 47 years there (as player or coach) Jock McHale finally retired (see our 1949 episode).
We thought it fitting to wrap up his career by having a discussion with the author of the Jock McHale book, Glenn McFarlane.

In the 1946 episode of the Kick to kick podcast, we are still talking about the fallout from the bloodbath.
